1CRM Launches Mobile CRM Client Apps for iPhone, iPad & Mac
One nice thing about 1CRM is that you can access it using a web browser on just about any device – PC, Mac, Android or iOS. But of course, many people would prefer to see it as an app when using their smartphone. For that reason we offer the 1CRM Mobile App for Android phones. And in the past we offered the 1CRM Mobile App for iPhones as well.
Now we have a next generation mobile CRM app for iPhones called 1CRM Client. And it not only runs on iPhones, but there is a 1CRM Client app for iPads as well, with support for split-screen modes. And extra specially – there is now a 1CRM Client App for Mac too!
In addition, unlike the previous iPhone App, 1CRM Client works with any edition of 1CRM – Startup, Startup+, Professional and Enterprise (preferably software version 8.6.12 or later to gain all the features described below). And it now allows you to use absolutely all the features of 1CRM – even including Administration.
Just search for 1CRM Client in the App Store on your device, and install the free App. When you run it you will see a login screen such as this (it may be laid out a little differently on different sized screens):
Just enter the web URL for your own 1CRM system (remember the https:// prefix), plus your normal system username and password, and click on Login. It’s also really handy if you want to enable the toggle switch for Remember Me – then your URL, username and password will always be there the next time you need to login.
Some special features of the 1CRM Client App for Apple include:
- Login credentials memory
- Pull down to refresh
- Notifications integration
- Click to call in the CRM can place a call using the iPhone, when running the 1CRM Client app on your iPhone
- Email Compose on iPad, iPhone and Mac can compose the Email using either the 1CRM email client, or the default mail app on your device.
Let’s discuss each of these in a bit more detail.
Pull Down to Refresh
When using 1CRM in a browser, from time to time you may want to refresh the app view. That’s easy in a browser – but how do you do it in this 1CRM Client App? Well – on iPad or iPhone, just drag down on the screen and let it snap back up. You’ll see a Loading message for a moment, and that’s it. On the Mac you need a different solution, and that is just using the normal browser keyboard shortcut Command-R (⌘+R). And while we are mentioning keyboard shortcuts, you can use Command-Cursor Left (⌘+◀︎) to perform a browser ‘previous-page’ function.
Mobile CRM Apps & Notifications Integration
Apple devices share a great notifications system, and if you use the 1CRM Client App on any iPhone, iPad or Mac you can enjoy the use of it. In 1CRM your Calls, Meetings and Tasks can have Email Reminders and Display Reminders. When a Display Reminder is sent to you the CRM user, it just shows as a popup box when using a browser. But if you have the 1CRM Client App active on an Apple device when one of those Display reminders goes off, you will get a proper Apple Notification, like this:
Remember, you control what kind of notification you will get on your device using a screen like this in Settings, Notifications:
And of course, if you have an Apple Watch linked to your iPhone, you will also get a notification on your watch:
Click to Call
Every Apple device has a sense of what its default service is to use when making a phone call. Even on an iPhone that might not be the ‘phone’ inside your iPhone! It could be an IP Telephony service such as RingCentral, for example. On an iPad, it might be to use your iPhone which it senses nearby – and the same for your Mac.
Whatever that default phone service is on your device, clicking on a phone number for a Lead, Contact or Account within the 1CRM Client App will place a call using that service, while giving your the opportunity to make a record of the call, and take notes.
Email Compose
When you compose a new email in the 1CRM Client App by clicking on the email icon at the top of a Lead or Contact screen, or using the Compose Email button on the Activities sub-panel, you have the choice of composing that email using the 1CRM email editor, or the default email app on your Apple device such as Apple Mail or Outlook. Simply choose your preferred Email Client on the Email tab of your My Account settings screen.
Conclusion
The 1CRM Client App has several advantages over our previous 1CRM Mobile App, runs on all Apple devices, and works with all Editions of 1CRM. What’s not to like? We really hope you enjoy using this new app!
